Why are ppl so "green" these days?

People are "going green" because big corporations have been using this "global warming" farce to their advantage. The make a product, market it as being "green" and then sell it to consumers at higher cost thus increasing their profits. A good example is those "hybrid" SUV's. Chevrolet has one that was voted "Green Car of the Year". This SUV only gets 20 mpg. There are plenty of other "non-hybrid" vehicles that get much better mileage, yet people believe they are actually helping the environment. This is just one of many "green" items that are out today that are really no different from anything else. Some "green" items that are on the market today actually contain materials that are bad for the environment. All to make a buck. Go figure.
