When did you first become interested in astrology and why?

I was about 14 or so and I remember being into it then. The interest just grew, though beyond sun signs of course lol. It just seems...to make sense to me. Yes plenty of people think it's for dizzy people, but I don't care. Astrology has guided monarchies and other rulers since the dawn of time, and for a reason. Many of the greatest scientists and mathematicians were astrologers. Not that I need to defend my natural interests to non-believers! Frequently coming in here to try and 'teach' or disprove is really sad. What about everyone else? I'm especially interested in advanced and professional astrologers. Have any of you been to conventions or anything?
