Is it ever acceptable to do something reprihensable if noone will get hurt and the situation is desparate?

.If the story were true (you're apparently attention seeking today) I'd say the person would have no way to know the boss would keep his word, no way to know if the job they may be xferred to would last anyway, and if they really had a conscience and morals, they wouldn't consider it regardless.
